Is anyone else spooked by the amount of deaths related to the swine flu in India at the moment? Since March 10th there have been over 600 flu-related deaths. There's even talk that the virus has mutated from the one identified in 2009 to a harder to deal with, anti-viral resistant strain, and Indian officials refuse to admit that anything is wrong.

I've played the app game Plague Inc. I know how a situation can quickly spiral out of control. There's a lot of people in India, which gives a virus or plague a lot of chances to mutate and become something we just can't deal with.

It's very worrying. And the people that are like "Relax, it's no big deal" kind of need to shut up. Because yes, it is a big deal. This is a situation that needs to be handled.

The US has the CDC to crack down with quarantines and cut off international travel, but what does India have? There are a lot of people crammed into a small amount of space, and the number of infected is rising daily.

The swine flu in India is a serious crisis. Scientists need to get on it.

I try not to be judgy about other peoples' OTPs, but Buffy/Giles is kinda icky. He's her father figure. So how exactly does their father-daughter dynamic change to them bumping uglies?

There are simply some pairings that make a story uncomfortable to read. I will quietly X-out of that probable train wreck and find something else to read.
