The first time I read this story, I did not move from my computer for nearly two hours, completely unable to look away from the screen as I absorbed every single word. When I was done reading, my entire world-view was changed forever, and even though I know it's not truly canon, I can't help but to feel as though this is the way it was supposed to go; I'm a slasher to the core. It's bad when a fanfic is better than the actual books, but there you go. I'm desperately waiting for the sequel, which is in progress, and sometimes I truly feel as though I'm struggling for every breath, barely holding on as I wait for mo' mo' mo'

Summary: The most obvious thing for Larry to do at this point would be to excuse himself, go get some more coffee or go to the bathroom, and Charlie would step back-he would have to or it might become awkward enough to require acknowledgment. But Larry had to at least suspect that, habits being fairly deeply ingrained, they could end up back in this same position again when he returned, so if Larry was smart-and that was inarguable-he would likely return only to offer Charlie the hot seat instead. And Larry would then perch on the edge of the desk. In which case, Charlie had a contingency plan.
