feygan: (bound)
I've been taking the time to catch up on my Hellblazer storylines, reading through the arcs one by one on my way to the end. Fun, fun. On Black Flowers, issue #182 right now. I've got from issue 1-250 and some specials to read, then I'm gonna have to find something else to read.

Hopefully, by then my TPBs of Supreme Power will have come. I've already consumed the Invincibles. Yum. And then I'll make some Hellblazer and other comics icons.

Gonna watch Madagascar in awhile. Stupid me, I thought Sky High was coming out today so I went all the way to the store to get it. Bought Stargate the Ultimate Edition, Seven, Thunderbirds, Cube 2: Hypbercube, Cursed, Darkness, and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow to salve my savaged pride.

I've also still got Star Wars III to watch, but I've been putting it off. I know it's lame, but I'm so afraid it's going to suck that I'm scared to watch it. I'm tired of being disappointed.

Narnia

The trailers for the new Narnia movie are kind of scaring me. The fact that it was described as being the new Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter movie is even more terrifying.

To counteract the effect the movie's going to have on me, I ordered the Chronicles of Narnia on DVD. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; Voyage of the Dawn Treader; and The Silver Chair. Produced by the BBC and without all the bells and whistles of modern TV shows and movies, I still loved the series and probably always will. Eustace was such a shit... and Edmund was so the Queen's little bitch.

My attraction for the new movies... you know, the ones that totally warp the fabric of my childhood... has kind of faded a little with time. I haven't even gone to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Why, you ask? Because I was maybe a little disappointed with Prisoner of Azkhaban (betrayer!) and I liked the books better, though my interest in them has waned as well.

Anyways, here's some recs:
The Curse of Chalion, by Lois McMaster Bujold
The Well-Favored Man, by Elizabeth Willey
Aristoi, by Walter Jon Williams
Alamut, by Judith Tarr
Invincible, by Robert Kirkman

And holy crap, looking over my shelves, I just found out I have the Young Justice TPB "A League of Their Own." Who knew?

I saw "Darkness" with Anna Paquin and holy shit but that was one scary ass movie.  I had to turn on all the lights in the apartment to go to the bathroom, and then had to prop the door partway open to keep it from closing and the lights going out.

I had to stay up and watch "Cursed" until I wasn't scared anymore.
