RE: Waiting [movie]
I just finished watching "Waiting" and all I could think was... "Huh."
I suppose to the creators there was some kind of story going on there, but really... not that much. Basically just a day in the life of a skeezy restaurant filled with some real... characters. There's the new trainee guy who's being shown the ropes, which is basically a premise so the person watching the movie can kind of get the lowdown on the what's going on in Shenaniganz without the writers actually having to do anything too creative. Then there's the whole thing about Dean realizing that he's wasting his entire life working in a restaurant and he's basically just allowed all his potential to wallow while he drifts from one day to the next serving other people food.
The wait staff and the cooks and everything are gross. Not only are they touching their genitals and any other orifice they possibly can while serving the customers their food... THEY'RE TOUCHING THEIR GENITALS while serving people their FOOD.
Sure, some parts of the movie were mildly amusing, but it also made me never want to let anyone else prepare my food for me again. Plus, I really wish there was more of a story to the movie. One day view of the restaurant, then they go party. The End. Whoa.
I just spent $19.95 plus tax on this movie. And I'm really wondering where the rest of the movie is.
