When I was a kid, you could buy a pepperoni stick at the gas station for a quarter. When I was twenty they were $0.59. Now, at twenty-five, they're 2/$2, or $1.09 alone. Wow, what a deal.

When I was a kid, you could buy a loaf of bread for fifty cents, then seventy-five cents, now that same cheapo Western Family bread is $1.50.

Money is stretching a lot less, while food is costing a bit more. Rising gas prices mean shipping food costs more money for the companies, which means the consumer has to eat the cost.

More money for food and clothes means working families have to make sacrifices that they probably shouldn't have to. Eat today, or have medical insurance tomorrow.

The rich just keep getting richer everyday, while the poor have no hope of ever catching up. There's no longer a middle-class, just the poor and the wealthy. And when the poor reach the point that they realize there's nothing else for them but to take what they want... the empire of America will come crumbling down.
